August: Consignment: 4

Why would you put your items in a consignment boutique as apposed to donating them or taking them to a Buy Out Right Boutique?  There are several advantages.
Donation: If you are donating designer items without much wear, keep two things in mind.  Woman in need of inexpensive clothing can't generally afford the dry cleaning cost of designer items.  Other women scour thrift type stores for designer items which they bring into consignment boutiques or sell on EBay.  If they're doing it, why don't you just bring your items in and get paid for them.
Buy Out Right: For designer items, you will tend to make more money if you consign them.  Not only can a Buy Out Right store not pay you what your items are worth, they often discourage you from bringing them in for that very reason.
Consignment:
Wide Audience: You could swap closets with your girlfriend, but consignment gives you a much wider audience for your things along with a certain level of anonymity.  Now you and your friends won't see one another in each others clothes.  Someone else buys your items and you're both protected from that awkward moment of recognizing your clothing on someone else.
Local Economy Investing:  When you utilize your local consignment boutique, you are investing in your local economy.  The staff live in town or nearby so you can rest assured that they are taking their hard earned paycheck and investing that money locally.  When you consign, you are doing your part for your town.  You are also helping other women achieve their fashion dreams!  WIN WIN!
Nice Environment:  Femme prides itself on an inviting and warm atmosphere with a strong sense of what is trendy and fashionable.  Clean racks and a tidy store ensure your items receive the best showcasing available.  We maintain an environment which encourages touching and trying on of each item.  We use our space to make each item important.
Money: Lets get down to business.  Consignment requires patience on your part.  We don't pay out right, but we mail checks once a month for the previous months sales.  This means that if you are willing to wait, you will in general make more than if you sell the items yourself - with less hassle.  No shipping on your part, no dealing with sales, and no opening up a store front yourself.  Femme has taken all those steps for you and only waits for you to bring in your treasures!

Consignment is a partnership between the boutique and the consignor.  We are both working together, and it's in our best interest to do so, to sell the items on the shelves.  Over the next few weekends we will talk about Femme's consignment policies and how they help you sell your items!
