Chic Holiday Dressing

"Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble. "
- - - Shakespeare "Macbeth"

You don't have to look cheesy, or like you got into the dress-up box to have a fun Halloween look this month! All you have to do is find the right colors and be creative. For example:
Trousers: Look for fun plaid pants with a wide leg in brown and orange and then pair them with an orange cashmere cardi for a pumpkin flare without a pumpkin look. Or wiggle into a pair of black cigarette trousers, tuck those into some brown boots and wear a brown over-sized sweater with an orange belt. Now you look like Halloween without looking like a jack-o-lantern!
Jeans: Easy as pumpkin pie! Pair these go-to neutrals with orange, green, black or themed tees for the perfect weekend look. Choose your top wisely and avoid overly themed tops and sweaters - major fashion no-no!
Jackets: Take a bright orange jacket and pair it with...not black... olive green, navy or chocolate brown for a classy look. Pair your black with green and add an orange statement necklace, or swap it up and pair your orange jacket with only black jewelry. This captures the feel without the feel trapping you!
Dresses: Avoid dresses with giant spiders and instead look for the right accents. A brown dress paired with an orange scarf and a green cardi is festive but not scary. Or if you love your LBD have fun by pairing it with orange accents on the 31st! Until then keep the accents brown or green.

It is easy to make a holiday chic with just the right pieces and controlled fun. Don't let your outfits be blah and don't let them be scary - fall in the middle with sophistication! And, please, avoid Halloween themed jewelry and sweaters. Thank you!
