How to Wear: Dresses

Now that trousers and jeans are fit for women to wear, let’s not forget about dresses. Could there be a more glorious clothing item for women. Simple, elegant and basically a no brainer, dresses make getting dressed a breeze. When shopping for the perfect fitting dress, keep the following in mind:

1. Shape - great dresses will instantly add femininity and accentuate your best features. Make sure the style suits your figure. If you are curvy look for styles that nip in at the waist and that skim your curves. For less curvy types, try a nice sheath dress which can be worn belted or not.

2. Fabric – look for quality fabrics that cover a multitude of sins. Sometimes the shape and cut of the dress will be fantastic, but the material shows every bump and lump. The material should be sturdy enough to skim your body giving a smooth silhouette. If all else fails, try spandex.

3. Length and Neckline – The best length dress is going to hit you just below the knee. Think thinnest part of your leg. It gives an illusion that your leg is that small everywhere. Make sure the length and neckline are age appropriate, and avoid a plunging neckline with a short skirt. Shapely legs can carry shorter styles. If you fall in love with a short dress and aren't comfortable baring that much skin, pair it with leggings, skinny jeans or tights.
