Walk into Fall

With cool fronts coming sporadically, the question right now is what to wear!  Outside it's hot, inside it's cold.  What's a Lady to do??  Layer and have fun!!

Take that bright summer shell, be it knit or silk, and pair it with a chunky cardi.  Push up the sleeves and add a skirt or shorts to keep you from over heating.

Take that strapless summer dress, bright colors and all, and add a gray comfy sweater and Toms to the mix to make it perfect for Autumn.

Take your favorite boots, stuff your skinny jeans into them and go with an over sized, sheer top.  Let one side fall off your shoulder.  Now you look sexy and feel cool!  Sweet!

Take your leaf patterned scarf and wrap it's comforting warmth around you.  Pair it with a tank top and something light on the bottom.

Take your new felt hat and wear it with ankle jeans, peep-toed flats, and a cropped jacket over a light-weight tank.

 

The running theme is to take something fall/winter and pair it with something spring/summer.  That's transition.  Let's talk color!

Take your turquoise and pair it with olive green.

Take your happy yellow and pair it with gray.

Take your orange and pair it with brown.

Take your floral patterns and select the darkest tone in the offered pallet.  Pair it with that color.

Take your oriental blue and try it with a wine red.

Take your soft lavender and pair it with deep tan.

Take your reds and meld them with browns, golds and ivory.

Take your navy away from white and try it with orange, brown or even black.

Lots of your summer colors can work in the fall season if you just layer them with the right pieces.  Also...as you layer make sure you can unlayer.  Make sure you can slip just as easily and comfortably out of your cardi/jacket as you did into it.  That way you can take it off when you head outside.  This way you are never too hot or too cold.  Make sure your outfit is not totally dependant on that scarf around your neck.  If it is, you will just die when you get in your car to go home at the end of the day.  Make sure your boots are not the furry kind, but the good leather so your feet don't over heat!
