60/40 Splits
Why is it that Femme does a 60/40 split on all if its consignments except for the Furs and Designer Bags? Didn't you make the initial investment in the clothing? Doesn't that entitle you to getting half of what the boutique sells your items for? Femme would like you to consider the following:
Location: In order to maintain a location on Camp Bowie, on the pretty part of Camp Bowie, you have to be able to afford the rent. Ever notice how many boutiques come and go on Camp Bowie? The rent around here is high; higher than if the boutique is located on Hulen Street. But, it is worth it cause Camp Bowie is the shopping destination of Fort Worth. It is also being improved by Historic Camp Bowie, so the area is improving every year.
Staff: In order to maintain a competent staff intent on taking care of each customer and providing excellent customer service, you have to pay them. These women more than earn anything the boutique could ever compensate them for. They pour their hearts into the store every day and into you as customers and consignors. They come in early, stay late and even miss out family events cause they love you and they love the boutique. This kind of dedication earns a decent pay.
Organization: Femme maintains a high level of organization. We keep track of each and every little interaction which happens in the store. We are always organized and always organizing. If what we do looks easy to you, we take that as a compliment to our level of organization. Consignment involves maintaining and understanding little details. Lots and lots of little details. This takes lots of time.
We retain 60% of the selling price and we work diligently to earn that 60% so you know that when you get your 40% you know the rest went to lots of hard working people and an smooth running business!
Audience: The 60% gives Femme the opportunity to employ a staff who can maintain the environment of the store every day! It lets us put a smile on the face of each customer who walks in the door and enjoys a cupcake and beautiful clothes. This happy audience are the purchasers of your clothing and the word of mouth spreaders!!!
Local Economy: Like we mentioned before, Femme's staff lives in the DFW area. Femme seeks to order supplies from local businesses as much as it can. The 60% Femme retains is invested back into the local economy!
Environment: Femme works to keep hangers which match, good carpet, clean windows, nice smells, cool air, treats and surprises at every moment. The 60% we retain guarantees you a good environment to showcase your beautiful clothing, handbags and shoes in! Because of our excellent location, you know we have a market to sell your designer items! When you consign with us, you know you are in the right location.
Money: Femme's Consignors retain 40% of what their items sell for. This 40% is more than you can make in a garage sale, or from a Buy-Outright-Boutique. This is money in your pocket for items you aren't wearing anymore! How great is that! And, as we have illustrated above, the other 60% is working for you as well!
