The Look Book – Discover Yourself

Discovering yourself and what you like and dislike is a continual process that takes patience and work. With busy schedules and demands on you, taking time for yourself and finding out what thrills you may seem unimportant; however if you don’t do it, who will? While shopping is therapy for many women, it can be frustrating for others. Discovering what you need and love with regards to your wardrobe can enhance your shopping experience and bring joy to your life. Creating your own look book is a great way to discover what you like and need. Follow these steps for a quick and easy approach:

1. Open your eyes to the beauty around you.

2. Make note of the things you see, what you like and dislike.

3. Don’t be limited to fashion magazines and pop culture. Consider books, periods of time in history and parts of the world and all the influences associated with them. Take pictures.

4. Blaze your own trail and be creative. Don’t let others, be it friends, family, fashion designers, or magazine editors box you in.

5. Keep all your observations and notes together with magazine clippings and photos in a journal or three-ring binder.

Inspiration is all around, so never be inhibited by the obvious. Branch out and discover a new world.
