How To Wear: Hats, Earrings and Sunglasses

There are so many ways to look and be feminine and all of them should be embraced! From head to toe each part of us has something to embellish, add grace, be bright and cheerful and all of them also serve a practical and artistic purpose. What about accessories is not to love???

Hats: Worn backwards and forwards, big and bold or pill box and lacy. They can function as summer cover ups, hair tamers, and can even keep you warm in the winter. They add a level of sophistication from yesteryear to your look or a sense of Indiana Jones adventure. Try to find colors which compliment your skin tone and hair. Watch for shape. Some hats may look so cute on one woman and look totally frumpy, childish or fugly on you. Ask someone how it looks. Also watch for the appropriate situation. Denim and loosely woven hats are more casual. Felt, wool and tightly woven hats are more dressy. Most large floppy hats can go both directions. Expensive embellishments like feathers, lace and jewels move the hat into a more dressy option which can be dressed down for fun but a squashy cowgirl hat cannot, generally be dressed up. Have fun with hats and add a romantic flare to your wardrobe.

Earrings: From chandeliers to studs, from drops to hoops earrings are a wonderful way to draw the eye up to the face! Chandeliers can be dynamite with both long and short hair. They can dress up a casual outfit or compliment an evening gown. Studs are a classic, chic way to go in any situation. They speak of a timeless strength. Drops and hoops are the go to pieces for work and weekends. They can make a more subtle statement than chandeliers but lend more color than studs.

Sunglasses: Practical statements. Be wary of trends in design. Go for what looks good on you. Avoid cuts which are too harsh or give you an alien appearance. Other than that...go for the designer names, sequins, rhinestones, glitz and glamor. To much bling for your taste? Try a sophisticated tortoiseshell or a classic black design. Some designers make you well aware of what your wearing and some let themselves be judged on quality alone. Pick the one which suits you best.
