Carousel of Color - 4

Color infiltrates every part of our lives. The start of spring brings about a newness of life and vibrancy of color the winter left faded from our land. With the changing of seasons, the bear and lonely trees, spring to life again. Bluebonnets and flowers start to bloom and the grass is greener and fresher. Corals, blues, greens, and yellows begin to replace the dull browns and tans of winter. Red, yellow and blue are not the only colors we have to choose from, according to Pantone (the color experts), there are thousands of regularly used colors and millions more that can be distinguished by the human eye. Each year, Pantone announces a color of the year, and the hottest new color this year it is Honeysuckle. In 1999, Pantone announced cerulean blue as the Color of the Millennium. If you have seen "The Devil Wears Prada," you will undoubtedly remember the scene where Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) educates Andrea Sach (Anne Hathaway) on fashion and how she came to purchase her lumpy cerulean blue sweater. Fashion and color experts may be the starting point for what clothes and colors are hot each season, but the final decision for what you put on your body comes down to you. If you don't like honeysuckle, don't wear it. If it makes you look a little under the weather, but you love it, try it away from your face or try a variation in the same color family that suits your skin tone better. Wear what you love in colors you delight in. Most importantly wear colors and styles that compliment your skin tone and body type. Clothes should enhance your natural beauty and reveal YOU.

Rainbow of colors await you at Femme. You will surely find something to put the SPRING back into your wardrobe.
